Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I am filled with excited anticipation and thankful for an opportunity to have new beginnings. For most of you I say, “Hello and welcome back” and to new school family members, “Hello and welcome”, to the 2016 – 2017 school year.

Staff members are already in full gear, working to uphold our mission to „provide a safe learning environment, that encourages and supports students to reach their full potential through excellence in teaching, mentoring and collaboration.. My vision is that at Paget Primary there is achievement for the whole child and every child. We continue to learn and grow as we create an environment, throughout the school, that is caring, nurturing and stimulating.

Parents, as we build on open and respectful communication, through embracing an effective home and school partnership, please ensure that you give us your updated contact information, phone numbers, e-mails and mailing address. Remember, the students will each have an agenda/planner in which you can write notes to the teacher. As we endeavor to use various tools for communication, I am reminding you of Parent Connect (Ministry of Education), a web-based form of communication. Several parents have also found this to be helpful in keeping up with the progress of their child. If you need your password for this, contact Mrs. Paynter, here at school, for more information.

Below is a brief of the schedule for the school day during this year.

    8:30 a.m. First bell rings, attendance taken. 8:40 a.m. Class schedule begins 10:45-11:00 a.m. Recess (fruit/vegetable snack break, all natural) 11:00 a.m. Classes resume 12:00-1:00 p.m. Lunch 1:00 p.m. Classes resume 3:00 p.m. P1 and P2 dismissal 3:20 p.m. P3 – P6 dismissal

It is a pleasure to introduce the staff for this year. As was mentioned in one of our PTA meetings, the current year 6 has only one class group, as the P5 classes were combined. We entrust that you will work with us as we help the members of that class to be an enriched class community. It is with pleasure that I announce that we now have a reading teacher and a second learning support teacher.

We also celebrate the births of Mrs. Jessica Minors. baby girl in May and Ms. Gina Cann.s baby boy in August. We wish these faculty members well with motherhood.

I am excited about this year ahead and the new opportunity for us to prepare our students for a successful future! I look forward to the success of each student at Paget Primary School.

Yours faithfully, Mrs. I. Beckles

MISSION: to provide a safe learning environment, that encourages and supports students to reach their full potential through excellence in teaching, mentoring and collaboration.
